Triggers

Introduction

When watching biathlon races as a fan, our brain often gets triggered based on what we see and hear, leading to questions like “I wonder where JTB gained most of his lead?”, “Who would know what shot is missed most often?”, and “What is the youngest athlete on the podium, ever?”

As an athlete, you may want to know where you stand compared to your direct competitors for the season, or how you developed compared to your previous season.

Coaches may want to have a clearer picture of their athletes, teams, or nation’s athletes and see how they have developed over time, where improvements have been made compared to others, how their team compares to other Nations, and what areas need more work.

With Triggers, you can get an answer to these questions in a visual presentation of all the available data through the IBU results page!

Continue reading as I further explain the different packages, the process, the deliverables, and some more specific details to ensure a clear expectation. Are you a more visual person? Check out the Trigger Examples page first, or if you already know what you want, you can go directly to the Trigger submission page, which also has a cost overview.

Packages

I am currently offering three packages, depending on the required level of detail, the number of measures, the amount of data (measured in participants), the types of analysis, the race levels WC/IBU/Youth) to be included, the event types (individual/team/both), etc. The packages give a general idea of what to expect with regard to deliverables and cost.

The Fan package is for simpler questions about one measure for one race or discipline, one athlete over a full season, or one measure for a season.

The Athlete package offers a detailed analysis of a specific athlete’s development based on multiple measures and their races over multiple seasons, and how they compare to other competitors or group averages.

The Coach package expands on the Athlete package by including all athletes on a team or can be a deep analysis of numerous measures for a multitude of athletes and seasons.

I also offer a free option, but with a caveat: depending on the number of submissions and availability, I collect submissions in the free package and at some point will put a poll on Instagram and/or Twitter to allow people to vote on the best submission, which will then be published for free.
