Although possessing\u00a0something as intangible as the game of hockey, or any sports game for that matter, Puck Possessed issue 8 looks at National Pride in hockey expressed by players in the NHL representing different &#8220;nation groups&#8221; in the NHL.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As looking at all individual nations didn&#8217;t make much sense, I combined Sweden and Finland, all former Soviet states, and a rest group combining numerous smaller European countries with one-offs like Australia and Bahamas. I should also note that these are\u00a0based on the Nationalities listed on the NHL web page; I do not know how the NHL deals with dual Nationalities for example, and obviously it also ignores those with a passport from their birth country who actually only lived there their first 3 years of their lives. Initially I also wanted to look at playing styles based on nationality (or continent) but that got kind of diluted by the prior comment, so I left it (for now).<\/p>\n<p>Although both pages are interactive on <a href=\"https:\/\/public.tableau.com\/views\/PuckPossessed8\/PuckPossessed8p1?:embed=y&amp;:display_count=yes\">Tableau Public<\/a>, page two actually has two filters (position and Games Played) that make looking at the chart even more interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!
